Algeria’s national oil and gas company Sonatrach has officially appointed Mr. Noureddine Daoudi as its new Chief Executive Officer. The decision reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its management team and advancing Algeria’s long-term energy strategy.
Mr. Daoudi is a geologist by training with over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. Since April 2020, he has served as Director of Al Naft, and previously held the position of Central Director at Sonatrach between 2007 and 2012.
Sonatrach is Algeria’s largest company and one of the key players in the global energy market, accounting for a major share of the country’s export revenues. The appointment comes amid ongoing reforms in Algeria’s energy sector aimed at boosting refining capacity, modernizing infrastructure, and attracting international investment.
The Russia–Algeria Business Council welcomes this strategic appointment, which underscores Algeria’s focus on effective management of its key assets, and reaffirms the Council’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Sonatrach and other energy institutions of Algeria.
