Meeting with the Ambassador of Algeria

On April 8, 2025, a working meeting was held at the Embassy of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Moscow to prepare a multi-sectoral business mission led by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, S. N. Katyrin, and the Russia-Algeria Business Forum, which will be held in Algiers from April 22 to 24, 2025.

– H.E. Boumediene Guennad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Algeria to the Russian Federation

– Brahim Benabi, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy

From the Russian side:

– Vladimir Padalko, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

– Ahmed Azimov, Chairman of the Russia-Algeria Business Council (RABC)

– Tatyana Morozova, Advisor to the Chairman of the RABC

Opening the meeting, Vice President of the CCI of Russia Vladimir Padalko emphasized Algeria’s growing role as one of Russia’s key economic partners on the African continent. He noted the steady interest of Russian companies in developing practical cooperation with Algerian businesses, pointing out that the upcoming forum is just one element in a long-term cooperation strategy based on mutual interest and strategic vision.

H.E. Ambassador Boumediene Guennad highlighted that business cooperation is a key tool for implementing the Agreement on Deep Strategic Partnership between Algeria and Russia, signed in 2023. He commended the activities of the Russia-Algeria Business Council, noting that despite being recently established, it has already proven to be an effective mechanism for promoting economic dialogue.

The meeting included a detailed discussion of organizational aspects of the upcoming events, which will be held with the support of the CCI of Russia, the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the RABC. Special attention was paid to ensuring high-level participation and a well-structured business agenda.

The Russian side expressed sincere gratitude to the Algerian Embassy for constructive cooperation, comprehensive support, and active assistance in preparing these key bilateral events.
