Opportunities for cooperation between Tatarstan and Algeria were discussed at the Plenipotentiary Representation of Tatarstan

The Chairman of the Russian-Algerian Business Council under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Ahmed Azimov, visited the Plenipotentiary representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation.

He met with Fannur Garifullin, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative for Coordination of International and Economic Relations.

Azimov Ahmed has headed the Russian-Algerian Business Council since October 2024. He recalled that Russian-Algerian ties have a long history and are traditionally friendly. In 2023, the Russian Federation and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria (PDRA) signed a strategic partnership agreement, establishing constructive and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.

Mutual trade between Russia and Algeria is steadily developing. The growing trade turnover indicates significant potential for further development and expansion of trade.

Noting that Algeria is an important strategic partner for Russia, Fannur Garifullin and Ahmed Azimov discussed the opportunities for establishing multifaceted connections between Tatarstan and this North African country. They identified promising areas of cooperation and highlighted joint efforts by both sides in this direction.

The meeting was also attended by Shamil Murtazaliyev, Head of the Business Council for Trade Cooperation with Algeria, and Dina Sheveleva, a lead specialist-expert of the Plenipotentiary Representation .
