On March 18, 2025, a coordination meeting between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Russia and Algeria was held in the format of a video conference.

The Algerian side was represented by the Director General of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shkib Ismail Kweidri, and the Chamber’s Chairman, Kamal Hamni. The Chairman of the Algerian-Russian Business Council, Mehdi Bokdioura, also participated in the event.

On the Russian side, participants included the Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vladimir Padalko; the Chairman of the Russian-Algerian Business Council, Ahmed Azimov; as well as representatives of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI RF) and the Russian-Algerian Business Council (RABC).

The main topic of discussion was the mechanisms and prospects for expanding economic and trade cooperation between Russia and Algeria. Participants emphasized the importance of actively leveraging emerging opportunities, particularly in priority sectors such as agro-industry, energy, digitalization, and other key areas.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold an Algerian-Russian Business Forum on April 22–23, 2025, in Algeria. During the forum, the signing of an updated cooperation agreement between the chambers of commerce of the two countries is also planned, which will renew the agreement first concluded in March 2006.

The Russian-Algerian Business Council will continue its active efforts to develop bilateral economic ties and create favorable conditions for entrepreneurs from both Russia and Algeria.
