RABAT, October 31st. /tass/. Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf held a meeting on October 31 with Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov, who is on a visit to the North African country at the head of the Russian parliamentary delegation.

During the conversation, the parties discussed "excellent relations of friendship and cooperation linking Algeria and Russia," the Algerian Foreign Ministry said in a communique.

Attaf and Davankov discussed "ways for legislative institutions to contribute to efforts aimed at raising bilateral partnership to a higher level, especially through the use of various mechanisms provided for by parliamentary diplomacy." The sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, the Algerian Foreign Ministry stressed.
