Algeria: Here Are the Top 15 Non-Hydrocarbon Exported Products
In 2023, Algeria exported goods worth $57.1 billion, a 13.7% decrease compared to 2022. Oil and gas β the countryβs two main export products β accounted for $52 billion of total exports, which represents a 12.09% decline from 2022.
As for non-hydrocarbon exports, Algeria exported more than $5 billion worth of goods in 2023. Below are the 15 leading non-oil and gas products exported by Algeria in 2023, according to the National Statistics Office (ONS):
According to ONS, in 2023 Algeria exported over $1.2 billion worth of fertilizers, over $1 billion of cement, and over $700 million worth of dates.
Compared to 2022, fertilizer exports declined significantly β from 267.879 billion DZD (nearly $2 billion) to 168.117 billion DZD. However, the export volume increased, from nearly 3 million tons in 2022 to 3.5 million tons in 2023.
The export of dates increased in both volume and value β from nearly $690 million (at an exchange rate of 1 USD = 135 DZD) to over $700 million. In quantitative terms, exports reached 83,000 tons, up from 72,880 tons in 2022.
The list of Algeriaβs 15 most exported non-hydrocarbon products remained unchanged between 2022 and 2023. Some products β such as turbojet and turboprop engines and carob β disappeared from the list, although they were included in 2021.
