At the invitation of the S. A meeting was held with Director General Dmitry Arsyutov and heads of профильных departments. The parties discussed cooperation with Algeria and a number of other countries in the region, including the export of medical services.
The participants noted that the Russian school of ophthalmology has historically been well known and highly valued in the Arab world, while the Fyodorov Institute is rightfully regarded as one of Russia’s most recognizable brands. The scale of the center is confirmed by объективные indicators: within the MNTK system, hundreds of thousands of операций are performed annually (over 300,000–350,000 per year), and its structure includes the headquarters in Moscow and 10 regional branches across the country. The Institute accounts for approximately 33% of all ophthalmic care in Russia and over 60% of high-tech procedures in the field.
Special attention was given to a practical cooperation model: establishing direct links with профильные institutions and specialists in Algeria, organizing patient referral and routing, as well as ensuring end-to-end сопровождение at all stages — from the initial request and diagnostics to treatment and subsequent follow-up. The parties also подчеркнули the strong interest of the Algerian side in developing partnership with ведущими Russian medical centers.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to the key направления of the Institute’s деятельности and were given a tour of its departments, where the infrastructure and technological capabilities of the center were demonstrated.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to move to practical steps: to appoint responsible coordinators and to сформировать a list of priority areas.
