Algeria has expressed its intention to organize specialized exhibitions in Moscow to promote national products and establish direct contacts with Russian companies. This was reported by Ahmed Azimov, Chairman of the Russia–Algeria Business Council, citing statements made by the Algerian Minister of Foreign Trade.

“The Minister of Foreign Trade of Algeria noted the existing imbalance in bilateral trade and emphasized that Algerian industry is demonstrating dynamic development, opening wide export opportunities. He stated that Algeria is ready to offer the Russian market a diverse range of locally manufactured products and looks forward to strengthening trade ties,” Azimov said. “In this regard, the Algerian side expressed its readiness to organize specialized exhibitions in Moscow to showcase industrial achievements, promote domestic products, and establish direct contacts with Russian companies,” he added.

According to Azimov, the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Sergey Katyrin, supported the initiative. “We are ready to provide our exhibition facilities and fully assist in establishing direct business contacts between Algerian and Russian entrepreneurs,” Azimov quoted him as saying.

At a meeting in Algiers, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Development, Kamel Rezig, also stated that Algeria is open to new formats of cooperation with Russian companies, according to the CCI press service.

The parties “discussed the current state and prospects of Russian–Algerian economic cooperation, noting the potential for expanding business ties in several sectors.” The Minister expressed interest in strengthening economic relations with Russia.

For his part, Katyrin, who is leading a business mission to Algeria, stressed that the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry considers Algeria one of Russia’s key partners on the African track. “We believe that there is significant untapped potential for Russian–Algerian interregional business cooperation. In our view, there is a wide scope of work here for both the Russian CCI and the Algerian CCI,” he noted.

On Tuesday, the Russia–Algeria Business Forum opened in Algiers, organized by the Russia–Algeria Business Council jointly with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both countries. The agenda includes a plenary session, delegation meetings, B2B negotiations, and the signing of agreements between companies and development institutions. The forum will continue until April 24.

The business mission of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Algeria will continue until April 25. Among its participants are more than 20 Russian companies from the IT, industrial, pharmaceutical, construction, and energy sectors, representing Moscow and various Russian regions, including Krasnoyarsk Territory, Lipetsk and Ryazan Regions, the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Chechen Republic.
