Resolution Following the Meeting of the Russia-Algeria Business Council in the Format of a Roundtable on the Topic "Russia-Algeria: Prospects for Business Cooperation"

We, representatives of the business and expert communities of Russia, participants of the roundtable, appeal to the authorities, business community, media, and specialized organizations to intensify efforts aimed at developing Russian-Algerian business cooperation.
Algeria remains one of Russia's most stable and strategically significant partners. In June 2023, an agreement on a deepened strategic partnership was signed between our countries. Algeria, as the largest African and Arab country, possesses a unique geographical position, significant energy resources, and a steady course toward strengthening its national sovereignty.
Algeria's entry into the BRICS New Development Bank, its status as a partner of the bloc, and similar approaches to key issues on the global agenda create a solid foundation for deepening trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Algeria.
In recent years, Algeria has demonstrated stable economic growth, increased purchasing power of the population, actively diversified its economy, and modernized its transport and logistics infrastructure, opening new opportunities for Russian business.
In this regard, we call for the following:

• To the authorities of Russia and Algeria:

To continue supporting efforts to eliminate administrative and legal barriers that slow the development of trade and economic relations. Simplifying visa regimes for business representatives from both countries will significantly facilitate business contacts and accelerate the implementation of joint projects.

• To Russian businesses:

To focus on areas such as agriculture, energy, logistics, pharmaceuticals, technology, and digitalization, identified by the Council’s experts as the most promising. Notable progress has been observed in bilateral cooperation in agriculture recently.

• To the media, scientific, and expert institutions:

To strengthen informational and expert support for Russian-Algerian cooperation. We appeal to organizations such as the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the Institute of Africa of RAS, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), and the Center for African Studies of HSE University, among others, to enhance their role in providing reliable analysis and fostering business ties. We also encourage business structures to engage closely with these institutions.

• To cultural, educational, humanitarian, and scientific communities:

Recognizing the importance of these connections in forming long-term and sustainable partnerships, we advocate for the development of initiatives aimed at deepening mutual understanding, strengthening trust, and preparing highly qualified personnel for strategic projects.
We believe the Russia-Algeria Business Council should serve as an inclusive platform for effective dialogue, barrier removal, information exchange, professional networking, and the promotion of initiatives aimed at developing bilateral cooperation, establishing sustainable mechanisms for long-term partnerships, and strengthening trust between the business communities of Russia and Algeria.
We are confident that the Council can significantly contribute to the work of the Joint Russia-Algeria Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, helping to account for the interests of businesses in both countries and formulating proposals for the development of business cooperation in priority areas.
In conclusion, we express our conviction that the joint efforts of all interested parties from Russia and Algeria in implementing the provisions of this resolution will contribute to creating a strong foundation for long-term business cooperation between our countries.
