Algeria is continuing to expand the powers of public administration representatives operating through AAPI’s one-stop shops. According to Algerie Eco, representatives of the State Property Administration are now authorised to prepare and sign concession contracts for economic land plots directly through these one-stop-shop structures.
The measure is aimed at reducing administrative procedures and accelerating the implementation of investment projects. For investors, it creates a more direct route for handling land required for industrial, manufacturing and logistics projects.
For Russian businesses, the issue is highly practical: access to land and the speed of concession procedures are among the key factors when assessing localisation projects, joint ventures and production development in Algeria.
