On 30 July 2025, the Chairman of the Russia–Algeria Business Council, Ahmed Azimov, held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Russian Federation, Mr. Toufik Djouama.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The Ambassador noted the high level of political relations between Algeria and Russia, while emphasizing that the current scale of economic interaction does not yet reflect the existing potential.
Mr. Djouama stated that, in line with the directives of the Algerian leadership, he is committed to active and substantive work aimed at intensifying economic ties with Russia and expressed a strong determination to achieve practical and mutually beneficial results.
The Ambassador also highlighted the important role of the Russia–Algeria Business Council as a platform for promoting bilateral initiatives and expressed his readiness to provide full support for its activities.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to maintain regular dialogue and jointly advance initiatives aimed at strengthening business relations between the two countries.
