A working meeting was held in Algiers between Kamel Rezig, Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, and a delegation of the Russian-Algerian Business Council at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, led by Chairman Ahmed Azimov.
The talks covered the state of Russian-Algerian trade, opportunities to increase bilateral trade and expand the range of goods supplied by both countries.
The parties discussed challenges companies from both countries face when entering each other’s markets, including import procedures, customs regulations, logistics and payment arrangements. They also discussed prospects for industrial cooperation and the establishment of joint production facilities in Algeria.
It was noted that considerable potential for growth remains in Russian-Algerian trade, primarily through expanding the range of goods supplied and enabling companies to enter new sectors. In this context, particular importance is attached to resolving practical issues that constrain trade and creating conditions for sustained cooperation between enterprises in the two countries.
Participants also discussed upcoming joint events, business missions and opportunities to advance specific projects involving Russian and Algerian companies.
Particular attention was given to continued work with companies interested in bilateral trade and joint projects. It was agreed that discussions on the issues raised would continue at the working level, with the participation of the relevant departments of the ministry and the Business Council.
