On April 30, 2026, a working meeting took place at the headquarters of Air Algérie between the Chairman of the Russian-Algerian Business Council at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Ahmed Azimov and the Chief Executive Officer of the airline Hamza Benhamouda.

During the переговоры, the parties discussed key issues related to the development of transport connectivity between the Russian Federation and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, with particular attention given to the resumption of direct air services between the two countries.

It was noted that the restoration of regular flights represents a strategically important step toward further strengthening trade and economic cooperation, increasing business activity, and expanding humanitarian and tourism exchanges.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue dialogue and coordinate efforts with relevant authorities and aviation stakeholders in both countries.
