The Chairman of the Russia–Algeria Business Council (RABC), Ahmed Azimov, held a working meeting with Salis Karakotov, CEO of JSC Shchelkovo Agrohim and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
JSC Shchelkovo Agrohim is one of the leading companies in Russia’s agrochemical industry, supplying the national agro-industrial complex with modern crop protection products, seeds, humic fertilizers, and integrated agrotechnological solutions.
The discussion focused on prospects for expanding Russian–Algerian cooperation in the agricultural sector, as well as potential formats for introducing the company’s products and technologies to the Algerian market, including exports and localization of production.
Special attention was given to the potential application of humic fertilizers and biostimulants under Algeria’s arid climate conditions, as well as to the implementation of large-scale government and investment-driven agricultural projects aimed at increasing crop yields and strengthening the country’s food security.
The Russia–Algeria Business Council noted that Algeria views the agricultural sector as one of its key priorities for economic development and is interested in attracting Russian technological partners.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue substantive work on potential areas of cooperation, with the Russia–Algeria Business Council acting in a coordinating role.
