As part of its business mission to Algeria, a delegation of the Russian-Algerian Business Council held a meeting with Noureddine Ouadah, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing Russian-Algerian cooperation in innovation, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, support for technology companies and the development of start-up ecosystems.
The Algerian side presented the main priorities of state policy aimed at developing the knowledge economy and technology entrepreneurship, as well as support measures for innovative companies implemented through relevant institutions and programmes.
Ahmed Azimov, Chairman of the Russian-Algerian Business Council, noted the high level of attention that Algeria attaches to the development of the innovation economy, support for youth entrepreneurship, and the creation of a favourable environment for technology projects.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for direct cooperation between Russian and Algerian technology companies, as well as the exchange of experience in digital solutions, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, educational technologies and support for innovative projects.
The parties also discussed prospects for organizing joint business and technology events, establishing direct contacts between start-ups from the two countries, and facilitating access for promising companies to the markets of Russia, Algeria and other African countries.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in expanding Russian-Algerian cooperation in technology and innovation. The Russian-Algerian Business Council expressed its readiness to support the development of partnerships between relevant organizations, technology companies, investment structures and development institutions of the two countries.
The parties noted the significant potential of Russian-Algerian cooperation in technology, innovation and the knowledge economy. Combining Russian technological expertise with Algeria’s dynamically developing innovation ecosystem could provide a solid foundation for joint projects aimed not only at the markets of the two countries, but also at Africa and the Middle East.
