On 18 September, a joint meeting of the Russia–Algeria and Algeria–Russia Business Councils was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI RF), chaired by Ahmed Azimov, Chairman of the Russia–Algeria Business Council.
In his opening remarks, CCI RF Vice President Vladimir Padalko outlined the results achieved on the Chamber’s track: “Around 400 Russian entrepreneurs visited Algeria this year to participate in various business events following the major CCI business mission in April.” He highlighted the most promising sectors for strengthening trade and economic relations with Algeria, including agriculture, infrastructure development, tourism, education and culture.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Algeria to Russia, Toufik Djouama, noted that the current level of bilateral trade does not yet match the depth of political dialogue, while both countries share a strong commitment to moving forward. He also encouraged viewing Algeria as an entry point to Africa thanks to its strategic geographical location.
Ahmed Azimov, Chairman of the Russia–Algeria Business Council, presented the results of the Council’s work in 2025, emphasizing that a solid foundation has been created and that the main efforts lie ahead. He noted that the Council is actively facilitating trade negotiations, monitoring around 40 joint projects between Russian and Algerian businesses, and organizing business events.
