Chairman of the Russian–Algerian Business Council Ahmed Azimov and Head of the Center for International Strategic Initiatives Majd Kotrach held a working meeting with Rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) Nikita Anisimov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed general issues related to the development of Russian–Algerian cooperation in the fields of education, science, and human capital development, as well as potential areas of interaction involving leading Russian universities.
Russian–Algerian partnership in education has a long-standing history: several generations of Algerian professionals have graduated from Soviet and Russian universities. Today, these ties are entering a new stage of development.
An important step in this direction was the signing, at the end of January in Algeria, of a package of documents including an intergovernmental agreement on the mutual recognition of educational qualifications, an interagency memorandum on science and higher education, as well as seven interuniversity cooperation agreements.
The Russian–Algerian Business Council views the development of educational cooperation as a key element of the long-term partnership between Russia and Algeria.
