The Chairman of the Russian-Algerian Business Council, A. S. Azimov, held a working meeting with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia, S. L. Levin. The discussion was substantive: the parties reviewed new opportunities for expanding Russian-Algerian cooperation in the agricultural sector, as well as projects requiring dedicated support on the Algerian track.
It was noted that agriculture today occupies one of the central positions in Algeria’s economic policy. The country is actively modernizing the sector, expanding processing capacities, and seeking to strengthen its food security. Against this backdrop, agriculture has become one of the most promising areas for Russian companies.
Special attention during the meeting was given to the topic of increasing supplies of Russian grain to Algeria — one of the key priorities of the bilateral trade agenda and an important focus for the coming period.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue coordinating the efforts of the RABC and the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, maintain regular information exchange, and enhance cooperation on projects capable of giving additional momentum to bilateral relations in the agro-industrial sector.
